Day 1: Saturday - Brisbane to Longreach D
Feel the anticipation as you step inside the iconic Spirit of the Outback for your overnight rail journey to Longreach. Check into your private cabin which offers a comfortable seat during the day and converts into a bed at night. Your First Class cabin also contains a 240v plug to power your personal electronics. Enjoy all inclusive chef prepared meals and the latest movies on entertainment tablets, exclusive to First Class customers. As a First Class guest you will have access to the Exclusive Shearers Rest Lounge with the latest movies on entertainment tablets. Enjoy all-inclusive dining in the Tuckerbox Restaurant. The menu includes hearty outback inspired chef prepared meals using some of Queensland’s best produce for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 2: Sunday - Longreach B L D
Feel that sense of freedom and adventure as you arrive into Longreach. You’re standing in the true heartland of Outback Queensland, home of legends, larrikins and our pioneering giants. Get acquainted on an introductory town tour with our Savannah Guides Operator guide before checking into your accommodation. Dinner tonight will be at the Bird Cage Hotel, a local favourite!

Day 3: Monday - Longreach B D
This morning, experience the warm hospitality of local graziers with a visit to nearby Camden Park Station. You’ll be treated to a personalised tour of the property capped off with a delicious morning tea. Back in town, wander the Qantas Founders Museum and join a guided tour of the newly opened Airpark. Late afternoon board the Longreach Explorer for the award-winning Drover’s Sunset Cruise on the mighty Thomson River. Unwind with onboard nibbles and drinks, watching a magnificent outback sunset. Enjoy a two-course table-service dinner under the stars at the entertaining Smithy’s Outback Dinner & Show. Top off the evening with billy-tea and freshly baked damper.
Day 4: Tuesday – Longreach B D
After a relaxed breakfast, join your guide for a short drive west from town to Lily Lagoon – a local favourite. Part of the Thomson River system, the lake emerges temporarily after rain. The lily-filled waterhole is perfect for bird-watching or a relaxing walk. Enjoy a traditional billy-tea then tour the nearby cattle sale yards. At the Stockman’s Hall of Fame, take your seat for the new Cinematic Experience. Surrounded on 3 sides by a huge 16m screen, you are invited into the world of the Aussie Stockman. Own arrangements for lunch in downtown Longreach with time for some outback styled retail therapy! Late afternoon join your tour group for a short drive to Ilfracombe. Founded in 1891, it was a transport hub for Wellshot Station, which at the time held the largest number of sheep on any station in the world. We’ll cap off the tour with an authentic pub dinner at the historic Wellshot Hotel. Then it’s time for Longreach’s latest sensation the Luminescent Longreach Sound & Light Show.
Day 5: Wednesday – Winton B L D
Be prepared to be impressed with the changing landscapes as we travel from Longreach to Winton. We visit the Australian Age of Dinosaurs perched high on a magnificent mesa overlooking the plains where dinosaurs once roamed! Onsite dinosaur enthusiasts treat us to a top-class interpretive tour of the laboratory, collection room and Dinosaur Canyon. In Winton see the quirky Arno’s Wall, the Musical Fence and learn the story behind Australia’s unofficial national anthem at the Waltzing Matilda Centre. Return to Longreach late afternoon. Dinner tonight will be at your accommodation.
Day 6: Thursday - Longreach to Brisbane B L D
Wake up to your last outback sunrise and a tasty breakfast before checking out of your accommodation. Your tour will conclude after breakfast this morning with a transfer to either Longreach Railway Station or Longreach Airport. Guests choosing to rail back to Brisbane aboard the Spirit of the Outback will enjoy all meals whilst onboard.
Day 7: Friday - Brisbane
Arrive back into Brisbane aboard the Spirit of the Outback.
